Institute: Waseda Institute for Advanced Study (WIAS), Waseda University, Japan
WIAS was established in September 2006 to enable promising and talented researchers to focus on their research activities under fixed-term contracts in a rich research environment. At present, around 30 researchers at WIAS are performing advanced research on a wide range of themes, with no limitation regarding field of study. WIAS is currently recruiting researchers for AY2022, when they will undertake highly creative research projects that have the potential to identify issues for the future investigation, and who will carve out new fields of study within the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences. They will be required to teach at least one full-year class per year (equivalent to two half-year classes), and may teach up to three full-year classes per year (equivalent to up to six half-year classes) at Waseda University. Persons with a doctorate, preferably granted after April 1, 2012, or those who are expected to obtain a doctorate by the time of appointment, are eligible to apply.
